Wynyard Walk is a 110m long pedestrian link that connects the Barangaroo precinct with the Sydney CBD. This key piece of City infrastructure has entry points through a four-storey atrium on Clarence Street and through the impressive canopy of the Western Portal.
This direct link into Wynyard Station presented a series of complex fire and life safety challenges that pushed our engineers to resolve occupant evacuation management, fire brigade intervention, and smoke control.
The interaction with the surrounding properties being 1 Margaret Street, Wynyard Station and Kent Street tunnel connection resulted in a carefully considered and holistic fire safety strategy that is designed to serve those who pass through during the morning rush for now and into the future.
